Night Watch – A lone Great Blue Heron Diet includes small fish, the eggs and young of many other birds. I happened to snap this one just after it nabbed a rat! All other waterfowl on the lagoon stormed over to the heron in caucophony of protest. The rat eventually got away! (Lost Lagoon, Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia.)
