Neve to be freed from jail

EDMONTON — Lisa Neve will be released from jail by the end of the week.

On Tuesday, Alberta's top court ruled that Neve's criminal record and behaviour did not warrant her being labelled a dangerous offender.

Corrections Canada officials have decided that Neve has more than served her time for her offences. A spokesman for the federal prison authority says she will be out on statutory release as soon as the paperwork is complete.

The former Edmonton prostitute has been in prison since May of 1993. She is currently in a minimum-security jail in Saskatchewan.
