Hooker jailed 7 years

Stabbed john for $10

A crack-addicted hooker who admitted she killed an elderly john in a dispute over cash-for-sex has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in jail.

Barbara Willimott, 32, pleaded guilty to manslaughter yesterday in the April 28, 1998 slaying of Pravdonic "Paul" Kletecka, 66, at his West Lodge Ave. apartment in Parkdale.

Willimott stabbed Kletecka three times in the chest and left the reclusive, retired lab technician to die, said Mr. Justice Michael Dambrot. There were no signs of a struggle.

Aggravating factor

Dambrot gave Willimott credit for two years of pre-trial custody — subtracting almost nine months for a drug-trafficking charge and another sentence for assaulting an inmate.

Both Crown attorney Lisa Henderson and her defence lawyer, Paul Layefsky, both said Willimott's bid to incriminate an innocent person was an aggravating factor in the sentence.

Willimott killed Kletecka and stole $110 from him which she used to buy crack, the prosecution said. She later told a friend, Jim Money, that she planned to incriminate a woman, later identifying her to police. Investigators, however, quickly cleared the woman.
