Campaign meant to raise awareness

Re: New campaign perpetuates stigma

We understand and appreciate Mr. Sorfleet's comments and feelings regarding our advertising (which show sex workers with UPC codes on their foreheads). But, as an adult who has made the conscientious decision to work in the sex industry, this is not the case for all sex workers.

PEERS Vancouver is an organization that offers exciting recovery programs for people unhappy with their current situations, and as such our advertising is geared toward that specific group. Each person involved in sex work has a different perspective on how it affects them. All we ask is that each is respected and acknowledged.

— KYLA KAUN
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS, PEERS VANCOUVER
