... Vancouver became the first city in Canada to have a police policy of not charging prostitutes. This was partly because of the realization that charging the prostitutes was not an effective deterrent. Since prostitution is legal in Canada, I suppose it's about time. If the heat is left wondering who they're gonna get to arrest now, my vote would be for murderers: Murders of prostitutes are on the rise throughout Canada, with B.C. will in the lead. In an unrelated story, at a recent trial in Manitoba, the judge instructed the jury to keep in mind that the murdered woman was a prostitute.
