Men charged in abduction

Two Bellingham, Wash., men accused of buying a Vancouver girl for $3,000 (U.S.) and trying to take her and her friend to California to serve as prostitutes pleaded not guilty yesterday in U.S. federal court in Portland, Ore. They were arrested Dec. 16 in Portland and charged under the 1948 White Slavery Traffic Act. Their trial is expected to get under way on March 24.
