Memorial March

The Downtown Eastside Women's Centre announces that the seventh annual Women's Memorial March takes place this Saturday beginning at 12 noon at the Carnegie Centre at Main and Hastings.

The march commemorates woen who died violently on the Downtown Eastside.

"Held on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, this march symbolizes the love for those women and girls who have tragically died on our streets and for the countless number of women and girls who are missing," the centre said in a press release.

Speakers will address marchers beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the centre.

The marchers will move through the streets of the Downtown Eastside, stopping at sites where women have died to leave a rose in remembrance.
