Bellingham man jailed five years in prostitution plot

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A man has been sentenced to five years in a federal prison for conspiring to bring two young Vancouver-area girls across the border and force them into prostitution.

Adam Jermaine ingram, 21, of Bellingham, received a maximum sentence on Thursday for conspiring to bring the 13- and 14-year-old girls into the United States for illegal sexual purposes.

A co-defendant, Kevin Woods, also of Bellingham, faces a maximum 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in December.

Woods, whom prosecutors described as the leader of the scheme, pleaded guilty to transporting the girls across borders with the intent that they would engage in prostitution or other sexual activity.
