Forum will study youth sex traffic

Keeping children and youth out of the sex trade will be discussed at a community forum at Queen Elizabeth secondary Thursday at 7 p.m.

MLAs Penny Priddy and Wilf Hurd will take part in a panel discussion with Diane Sowden, a parent trying to get her teen daughter out of prostitution.

The ways females in their early teens are targeted by pimps will be described, says Adrian Telford of Stop: Surrey Child and Youth Exploitation/Prostitution Task Force.

A former teenage prostitute will speak at the forum, and attendees will hear an audiotape from a teen struggling to escape from prostitution.
