Appeal DismissedUK A killer who murdered two prostitutes and dumped their bodies in Bitteswell and Swinford has failed to clear his name in the Appeal Court. Alun Kyte (36) received two life sentences at Nottingham Crown Court last March after he was convicted of murdering prostitutes Samo Paull and Tracey Turner. Kyte, now serving his sentence in Bristol Prison, argued in the Appeal Court on Thursday there were flaws in the trial judge's summing up to the jury which made his convictions "unsafe". But his challenge was dismissed by Lord Justice Waller sitting with Mr Justice Collins and Mr Justice Jack at Londonšs Criminal Appeal Court. Samo Paull's partly-clothed body was found in a ditch on Stanford Road in Swinford in December 1993. The naked body of Kyte's second victim, Tracey Turner, was discovered at Bitteswell in March 1994. |
