Walnet Traffic Report -- October 1997

Third quarter 1997

These were the months that we transferred over from our American service provider to a new Macintosh-based Canadian company. The connection is faster and we now have a much broader capability to serve database files on the web. That means lots more potential services for you! But it also means that overall stats are down a bit this quarter. During this three-month period, Walnet transferred 1,750 Mbytes of data. We averaged 18,186 kbytes kbytes a day. Walnet served to 20,776 distinct hosts, 435 in the last week. Walnet served up 88,714 webpages. It breaks down like this:

Commercial Sex Information Service

Commercial Sex Information Service served out 77,504 pages or 87.36% of all of walnet.org.

There is much to see on CSIS:

There are 954 items (16.5 Mbytes) in the CSIS directories. Of these items 450 are .html pages.

• The Sensual Services directory served 11,640 pages or 15.01% of all CSIS.
  
  • There were 1,598 requests for other sexy links.
    
  • There were 3,320 requests for Escort services.
    
  • There were 1,701 requests for Vancouver bodyrub parlours.
    
  • Lower Mainland parlours were requested 853 times.
    
  • Adult bookstores were requested 407 times.
    

• Newclippings served 16,148 pages or 20.83% of CSIS.

• Rights Groups served 21,730 pages or 28.03% of CSIS
  
  • SWAV served 15,038 pages or 19.40% of CSIS. (In addition, SWAV's pointer page in another directory was hit 6,170 times) The John "School" position paper was served 2,053 times.
    
  • NSWP served 2,469 pages or 3.18% of CSIS. (In addition, NSWP's pointer page in another directory was hit 321 times.)
    

• The Law section served 3,928 pages or 5.06% of CSIS.
  
  • Trials of the Sex Trade served 1,021 pages.
    
  • 115 government reports pages were served, of which were 163 requests for the Junger/Whitehead Inquiry.
    

• The Health area of the site, Medical Research and Safe Sex Tips, served 1,502 and 558 pages respectively (2,010 total) for 2.59% of CSIS requests.
  
  • How to Have Safer Sex was served 703 times or 0.90%
    

• Whore heroes filled 2,080 requests (2.68% of CSIS) and of those 295 were for Pam George.
  

97 Walnut served a total of 2,618 pages or 2.95% of all of Walnet.
